Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – In a meeting with Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mofid Husseini Kouhsari on Saturday, April 29, Ayatollah Alavi Gorgani, a senior Shia scholar, referred to Quranic teachings saying, "Today, one of the top missions of the Islamic seminaries is to be involved in international activities worldwide in order to promote Islamic thoughts and Shia doctrine in particular. I really hope that by initiation of Islamic seminaries' new plans, we see impressive progress in terms of our religious activities on a global scale."
The Shia cleric further highlighted the key role of Islamic seminaries and said, "The influential role of seminary schools and clerics as the religious missionaries and major institutes for cultural, social and religious progress in the society is known to all."
"Muslim clerics must work hard to invite the masses to Islam in order to introduce them to the religious of peace and kindness."
Elsewhere in his remarks, the senior cleric elaborated on the importance of seminaries' international activities; "the more effort we put into developing our Islamic seminaries' international activities, the better results we will finally get considering that the world is in need of religions and Islamic teachings," he concluded.
